Michael J. Orlich, M.D. is a board-certified family practioner.  He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and of the Tacoma Family Medicine residency, affiliated with the University of Washington. 

He has a longstanding interest in preventive medicine, nutrition and lifestyle education.  Dr. Orlich worked for a number of years as a physician with the NEWSTART® Lifestyle Program at the Weimar Center of Health & Education.  This center specializes in helping people change their lifestyle to reverse chronic disease and optimize health and promotes a vegetarian diet as the cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle.  He is currently pursuing additional training in preventive medicine and public health at Loma Linda University. Dr. Orlich also has a special interest in international medicine which has taken him to South America and Africa.
